Lake has received welcome news that the county’s status as a magnet for bass fishing will get national exposure next spring.
Fishing League Worldwide — the world’s largest tournament-fishing organization — announced that one of its six broadcast tournaments will be filmed March 9-12 on the Harris Chain of Lakes in Leesburg.
Featuring 160 of the best bass anglers in the world, the 2017 Walmart FLW Tour will air on NBC Sports Network, the Pursuit Channel and the World Fishing Network. The tour offers millions of dollars in prize money.
The tour stop here “will allow Lake County to show the world how great fishing is on the Harris Chain of Lakes,” said Adam Sumner, Lake County economic development and tourism manager. For tourney details and updated information, go to FLWFishing.com.
