Starbucks picks Eustis location at David Walker and 441

Starbucks picks Eustis location at David Walker and 441

by DeVore Design, February 17, 2016

The Golden Triangle area is getting its second freestanding Starbucks store at the northeast corner of David Walker Drive and U.S. Highway 441.

Plans are filed with the city to convert the Verizon store on the western end of the strip center at the corner into a Starbucks with a drive-through window.

Lori Barnes, development services director for Eustis, said the Verizon store will move to the east end of the strip-center building to make room for the coffee-lovers hangout and its new drive-through.

The new store will be about two miles west of the one inside Target on U.S. 441 and about another two miles down the road to the freestanding Starbucks east of U.S. 441 and Donnelly Street in Mount Dora.

Barrios Engineering LLC of Orlando is doing the construction work and did not respond to telephone calls asking about the new store’s planned opening.

The coffee shop is just one of many new businesses underway on the 4-mile stretch of U.S. 441 from David Walker Drive to just east of Donnelly Street. Soon the commercial sites in that area will be close to build-out. Between Donnelly and State Road 19 overpass a new Goodwill store, to replace the old store in the Eustis Square shopping center, and an AutoZone under construction, just west of Donnelly. A little further west, past Chili’s and across the street from Target, land is being cleared for a shopping center that will have a Panera Bread, an ALDI grocery and a Tijuana Flats, among other businesses and restaurants.
