Front lawn dinosaurs cause stir in Texas neighborhood

Front lawn dinosaurs cause stir in Texas neighborhood

by DeVore Design, August 31, 2015

A Texas couple is putting the average homeowners guardian lion statues to shame with a bit of a Jurassic Park twist on their lawn.

The owners, Nancy Hentschel and her husband, bought two metal sculptures of dinosaurs while on vacation in Arizona and decided to bring them home, KTRK-TV reported.

The T-Rex and Velociraptor sculptures sit near the couple’s front walkway and appear to lunge at an unseen victim.

“Obviously it does make a little bit of a statement,” Hentschel told KTRK-TV. “And I’ve met more neighbors in the past 24 hours than I have in the 17 years we’ve lived here.”

While many appreciate the dinosaurs, some think the quirky lawn art should not be allowed in the planned community of New Territory in Sugar Land, Texas, where the couple lives.
